OEKO-TEX®

PENFABRIC Mills are certified to ISO 9001-2015 and ISO 14001-2015, Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and STeP (Sustainable Textile Production) by Oekotex for weaving, pretreatment, dyeing, printing and finishing of woven fabrics.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100​

Our compliance with STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification ensures that products are tested for harmful substances to protect your health. This label guarantees that all our fabrics have been rigorously tested against up to 350 toxic chemicals.

OEKO-TEX® STEP​

PENFABRIC is the world’s first integrated textile company undertaking yarn spinning, greige weaving to dyeing and finishing, to be awarded the STeP by OEKO-TEX® certificate in year 2015 for Sustainable Textile Production and with it, the product label Made in Green by OEKO-TEX®.

Our production facilities are evaluated based on six modules: chemicals management, environmental performance, environmental management, social responsibility, quality management, and health protection and safety at work. PENFABRIC is at Level 3 of the STeP scoring system, which exemplifies leading practices.

With both the Oekotex 100 and Oekotex STeP certifications, we can label our fabric as MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX®, which is a traceable label that ensures products are tested for harmful substances and made sustainably under fair working conditions.

RECYCLED CLAIM STANDARD (RCS)​

PENFABRIC is also certified under the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), a voluntary international standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled input and chain of custody.

PENANG GREEN OFFICE

Penang Green Office certification is part of our commitment to protect the environment, reduce pollution, and promote eco consciousness in the workplace, as initiated by the Penang State Government. It provides guidelines on green practices across eight criteria, including waste reduction, energy and water conservation, and indoor air quality improvement.

Supporting a greener, cleaner Penang, PENFABRIC has proven that even in textile operations, sustainability is possible - proudly backing the Penang Green Council's vision as a Green State by adopting the Green Office Concept through Education & Implementation of Green Initiatives in the office.

By this, our office has adopted sustainability principles - aimed at helping company save energy, money & the environment!
